Delete Older Facebook Apps -- or Risk Everyone's...
If you have a Facebook page, you’ve probably added quite a few apps. If you’ve linked your YouTube account, New York Times account, or just about any mobile app to your Facebook profile, you’ve also installed their app — and you’re sharing your personal information with those companies. Why top students don’t want to teach?
Efforts to help US schools become more effective generally focus on improving the skills of current teachers or keeping the best and ejecting the least effective ones. The issue of who should actually become teachers has received comparatively little attention. Yet the world’s top-performing systems—in Finland, Singapore, and South Korea—recruit 100 percent of their teaching corps from students...

Coming to Grips With Lugging an iPad
CALL it the male iPad dilemma: too large to slip into a pants pocket, too stiff to be curled up like a magazine and too precious to leave unprotected. The Euro’s Uneven Benefit in Europe
THE euro has been good for German exporters, and seems likely to get even better in the coming year. What makes us attractive — or not?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are so many reasons why we’re attracted to one face versus another. […] symmetry — it does make faces more attractive. But it’s a small factor. Another rule is averageness. That may seem contradictory, but we like to choose things that are familiar to us.Amplify’d from www.latimes.comWe tend to be egotistical creatures, he says; when...

Improving 'Buzz'

The whole scenario threatened to so predictable I thought best to not waste 2 freaking hours watching it entirely. It’s a good thing I only spent 5€ for that DVD. Straight to the bin it goes.

pain builds bridges
I had not seen the old neighbour for a couple of days. Today his wife managed to explain he’s at the hospital: “he has a … heartache” pointing at her head. I corrected: “a headache?”. She nodded positively. It is serious… It’s been the most we’ve exchanged in over 4 years here.
